The Institute of Economics recently added a new partnership to its portfolio of international partnerships. An agreement with the Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India) was signed. According to the Webometrics ranking, the Jawaharlal Nehru University is among the 15 best university in India. In particular, we cooperate with the School of Social Sciences of the Jawaharlal Nehru University. The School of Social Sciences has 12 centres, among them a “Centre for Economic Studies and Planning”, a “Centre for Informal Sector and Labour Studies”, a “Centre for the Study of Discrimination and Exclusion”, and a “Centre for the Study of Regional Development”.

The agreement is valid for the fields Economics, Development Economics and Economic Policies, and Contemporary Globalization and their Implications. It includes an exchange of students (3 per year in each direction) and teaching staff. Students who are interested in the exchange programme should contact Christoph Weber.
