The Chair of Development Economics is looking for one to two student assistants from 01.06.2020 onwards for an initial period of six months (extension possible). The position is supposed to support the active research agenda of the Chair (https://sites.google.com/site/landmannecon/research) as described below:
Tasks
Internet, literature and data research
Data cleaning and analysis
Participation in research projects
General support tasks
Management of the homepage
Requirements
Enrolled as a Master student in Economics or related field
Proficiency in English
Ability to work independently, commitment, team spirit and flexibility
Familiarity with topics in development economics, risk/insurance, or health are desirable
Knowledge of statistical software (STATA is a plus) and/or IT skills
Very good or good academic achievements
Basics in statistics and/or econometrics
Working hours
~ 16 – 32 hours/month (also depending on whether one or two assistants will be
employed
Hourly pay according to standard wage
Documents
Short cover letter (in English)
CV including information on knowledge of statistical software and languages (in English)
Transcript of records (completed BA and ongoing MA program)
